Worlds 0.3.3.1
This the public release of version 0.3.3.1 of Worlds - History Simulator. As you can see, the biggest change is that for the first time there's an official (but still experimental) macOS build!
Besides that, this version is mostly focused on bug fixes and and small tweaks. You can read about the most notable changes in the changelist below. But before that, I want to explain a few things about the macOS build...
As I have pointed out (and will continue to point out) the macOS build is highly experimental. I'm not really sure if it's going to work on any mac computer other than mine. The biggest issue I couldn't solve is getting this build able to run as a hardened runtime and thus I can't notarize it (though at least I managed to code-sign it for public distribution). The macOS Gatekeeper service will prevent the game from running and will also quarantine it. You'll need to follow the instructions inside the zip file to work around those blocks. If you don't feel comfortable running the app in its current state, then I suggest waiting for a little while. Hopefully I'll be able to get the app notarized for public distribution on a future release.
Taken all that into account, here's a summarized list of changes for version 0.3.3.1:
- Made it possible to run the game on macOS (experimental) and share saves and mods between Mac/Windows
- Tweaked the Population Density overlay to make it logarithmic
- The sea route display now shows routes with different transparency levels to showcase their relative strength
- Players can now select the starting simulation speed for new worlds
- Loaded running worlds will start paused
- Fixed some major game and simulation crashes
- Fixed a bunch of minor UI and graphic issues
Hope you are able to enjoy this fix-up release. And, as always, let me know if you encounter any issues!

Another great release! The changes to the population and sea routes display are fantastic - they make a huge difference.
No idea if this is right, but I suspect what you are able to do with the information presentation and interactivity will be a big part of how successful the software is. My only evidence is personal and anecdotal, but it seems like even though the attraction to these types of games is the joy of watching worlds evolve and history be written (and rewritten) - i.e., the *model* you've built and we can play with. Nonetheless, the most intuitive way to actually interact with it is through the informational displays - both static views of historical data and real-time windows into the current state. And your new views hit the nail on the head, from my perspective.
Thanks for the comments! I'll try to keep improving on presentation and add stats even if only a little per release.
