Migratory Mishaps
This weekend I mostly struggled trying to fix the current problems with migrating tribal migrations. The new algorithm that I used to speed up unorganized band migrations made tribes behave very weirdly, with most tribes spreading so thin they end up disappearing very quickly, while others just end up migrating between a couple of cells in a perpetual cycle.
At this point I think I have rewritten the algorithm a bunch of times already, trying not to lose the speed benefits gained in the previous weeks. And, so far, I managed to stabilize tribal migration to the point they no longer cyclically migrate or collapse instantly. Nevertheless the tribes stop growing after a short while and remain static for the rest of simulation, which is not what I want.
The next weekend I'll continue working on tribal migration with the aim of making tribes fill up as much space as they can within a region, and later I'll try to give them events that will force them to migrate to neighboring regions. This will bring up reasons for tribes to enter into conflict with each other.
